The FARMS program is helping develop some large tracts of land outside of the Rufisque area. The area of land currently being worked by a few Christians consists of thirty acres. There are other tracts of land in this area that are being looked at for future development.
The climate in Senegal is a real challenge for growing produce because of the inconsistent rain patterns during the rainy season. The FARMS program has provided funds to install irrigation systems and initial planting. While there have been some challenges in developing some areas the success was very evident as we toured this particular project.
FARMS provides more than just an opportunity for the project holder. In the case of this particular project it produces jobs and income for many people as the land is worked, harvested, and brought to market. The cycle of money creates opportunity for hard working people, and a real testimony as others see God bless the projects.
The end result of these blessings are a group of Churches who can begin to expand their vision of seeing a Christian School being built, medical outreach, and overall expansion of the church. All of this is a result of tithes and offerings that are generated by a hard working and appreciative group of Christians.
It truly is “Doing Good that is Good!”
